Connect Cursor to your PCs

The Cursor agent can work with files and run commands on any of your Windows PCs — not only the one the editor runs on.

How to connect

Set up in a couple of minutes

  1. Open the MCP settings in Cursor (Customize → MCPs) or the file ~/.cursor/mcp.json and add:

  2. When Cursor asks, press sign-in (Connect / Login next to the bridgerator server) and sign in to Bridgerator with Google or e-mail. Your account is created on the spot, free.
  3. Connect your PC: paste one command into PowerShell on it (no admin rights) and press “Connect this computer” in the tab with the code.

  4. In the agent chat, ask for something on your PC.

To skip the browser sign-in, add "headers": {"Authorization": "Bearer brg_…"} to the entry with a personal access key.

Use cases

What Cursor can do on your PC

Files, search, the PowerShell and cmd terminal, processes, Word/Excel/PDF reports, a PC check and screenshots — on any connected Windows PC, by name. Copy a request and change the folders to yours.

  • Outbound connection only. No inbound ports on the PC, no admin rights.
  • Recycle Bin and Undo. Simple deletes go to the Recycle Bin and a file gets a copy before it changes — “Undo AI changes” puts it back.
  • Your rules. Nothing is restricted by default; when you want, add a folder list, read-only folders, confirmations on the PC, or turn the terminal off.
  • Contents not stored. Files and command output pass through the server and are not saved; TLS in transit (not end-to-end).

Questions

Is it the same account as for ChatGPT?

Yes. One Bridgerator account means the same computers in every app. Tool calls count the same: 10,000 a month per account on Free.

Where do I sign in — Cursor or Bridgerator?

In Bridgerator. Cursor opens our sign-in page and gets access to Bridgerator only.

Is my PC open to the internet?

No. The bridge on the PC connects out to the Bridgerator server (outbound only): no inbound ports are opened, and you need no public IP and no admin rights.
